I'm curious is there a limit to the number of times a person can take a withdrawl and re-pay the account back before the 60 day pay back period?

Stuart,

An indirect transfer/rollover as you suggested from your 401k to an IRA is not subject to a number of times limit.
However, a rollover from an IRA to another IRA is subject to a once every 365 days limit.
